Thick Chicken Gravy For Dipping |
You can't see how thick this gravy is in the photo but it's just the right consistency to coat the chicken and chips with when dipping. I always ordered gravy when I used to eat KFC, though there's not many similarities between this chicken gravy and theirs I just wanted a KFC style eating experience again and I got it!
Ingredients:
Gluten Free Chicken Stock (around 400ml for 2 people)
2 tablespoons Mirin
Corn Starch
2 tablespoons cold Water
Pinch of Salt
Directions:
- Mix the chicken stock and put in a pan on a high heat
- Add the mirin and salt and bring to the boil
- Once boiling, mix the corn starch and water in a dish until smooth and add to the pan
- Stir constantly until the gravy starts to thicken
- When you have your desired thickness, remove the pan from the heat and put the gravy into a serving container
That's it. It's quick, it's easy and it is the perfect partner for my take on gluten free KFC style chicken. This is a dipping gravy and not one that I would use to accompany a roast, but I suppose it could work if you replaced the mirin with a dry white wine.
I'm really, really pleased with my take on gluten free KFC, of course it isn't exact but it's a very good alternative and one that is going down a treat in this home! I can honestly say that I don't miss KFC anymore, how cool is that?!
A Marvellous Monday To All.
