Wow So Delicious |
I've tried various flavour Nakd Bars; Cashew Cookie, Ginger Bread, Berry Delight, more recently the new Rhubarb and Custard - which contains no rhubarb and no custard but curiously tastes just like both of those things expertly combined.
Berry Delight had been the firm favourite of out those flavours for quite some time but during the food shop this past weekend I noticed another new addition to the range, the Strawberry Crunch. My favouritism has been somewhat stolen by this newbie of the shelf.

Bit Blurry |
The combination of the strawberry and crunch made me feel like I was eating something way more indulgent than I actually was. Nakd Bars are pretty darn healthy but they don't taste healthy, and that's a great thing in my opinion.
Remember how I said that the Rhubarb and Custard flavour didn't actually have any Rhubarb or Custard in it, yet it still tasted just how I imagine it should taste having eaten both? Well, I only have 2 current examples to claim this detail from, but I think that most of the flavours I've tried, that most, if not all of them have Dates as their biggest percentage ingredient. You can't taste them though.

Bit Clearer |
The Strawberry Crunch bar has 2% of Strawberries as an ingredient but despite there being 43% Dates, 17% Cashews and 17% Raisins - a considerable amount more than that of the expected main ingredient - the bar still tastes prominently of Strawberries! The 17% of Soya Crunchies are equally overriding of the more abundant ingredients.
Whatever they're doing, they're doing it really, really well. I'd love to know how it's done.
I highly recommended Nakd gluten free Bars, they're gotten me out of a few hunger pained instances when I've been out and unable to find anything safe. A handbag essential.
