Life Is Short

Rik Mayall is the second person whom I was a great admirer of to pass away at at a young age recently and it's so incredibly sad. But in keeping with the tone of this blog, of me, let's laugh. I think it would be disrespectful not to.


*Spoiler Alert*

I always wanted a Drop Dead Fred, it's probably an only child thing but I longed for a madcap friend like him. The only thing stopping me from re-watching that film since the sad news is the fact that it doesn't end how I want it to, that Fred (ok so I just tortured myself by watching the ending) has to go away.

Call me strange but as a kid (maybe not just as a kid) I always thought that Lizzie and Fred should get together, it makes total sense to me. (Like with Lydia and Beetlejuice, I mean, how could she not want to marry him?! I certainly wouldn't have protested.)

The following scene (Pants Pie) appeals to my sense of humour on every level, but it's also kind of heartbreaking:


Quite fitting considering yesterday's horrible news.
