Where You Been?

Sorry it's been so long, it's been a bit of a stressful time. I'm feeling much better now but over the past few months or so I've been having health issues - girl problems - which I'm sure you don't want to hear about and I really don't want to share. It's been an emotional and uncomfortable stretch.

As I say, I'm feeling better now and on a very big plus side I've lost half a stone, not because of the health issues but because The Glutenite has been away and I vowed to step out of the kitchen and take a break. I haven't cooked (unless you call dry frying Halloumi cooking) for almost 3 weeks now.

I plan on getting back in there and experimenting a lot in the coming weeks so hopefully a lot of new recipes will be good to go on the blog soon.

In case you're wondering what I've been eating as I haven't been cooking; lots and lots of DS Gluten Free Crispbreads with a variety of lovely toppings and for a sweet treat Nairn's Biscuit Breaks in Chocolate Chip flavour. All so yum and hey, I've lost half a stone without even trying!

I must give a quick mention once again to DS Gluten Free as they sent me some Brown Ciabattas to try, little do they know that I buy these and the white ones on a regular basis. A huge thumbs up to these soft little pillows of gluten free bready goodness. You can read my original review here, the white ones are just as good and I use them in exactly the same ways.

No new discoveries to report, Udi's contacted me saying that they would like me to try some of their products but so far I haven't been sent anything. It's funny because I remember when I first saw this new brand overtaking the free from shelves with a large number of products, I did the usual squeeze test on some bagels and decided not to buy. I've seen a fair bit of the range since but so far not been tempted to part with any cash, I've not been enticed.

I always give an honest opinion when doing product reviews both when I buy the products or if I'm sent them. Maybe Udi's saw this and decided they didn't want my opinion after all. There's nothing to be scared of if you have great gluten free products, I champion those who do.

So just a little update as to where I've been. I'm looking forward to getting back into the kitchen, having a bit of an experiment and generally making a mess (not really the last bit as I have to clean it up).

Soon.

Lee :)

P.S. If anyone gets the music reference title I'll be very impressed
